Property Records
Jefferson County Assessor, Terry L. Roesch has instituted a policy to make the records managed by the Assessor's Office as open and easy to obtain as possible. The information available includes, but is not limited to, individual property records, various types of maps and other available data. For most inquiries information is readily available and may be conveyed to you by telephone. Certain specific or detailed information may require a visit to the office. Requests requiring documentation, photographs, maps or additional research may require more time. This should be taken into consideration if the information is needed in a timely manner. There may be certain requests that are outside the scope of our office or beyond a reasonable expectation to provide. A nominal fee may be charged to cover the cost of reproducing the documents.
To locate information on a specific record you will need one of the following:
Deeded Owners Name
Map Parcel Number (This can be found on a tax bill or receipt)
In some cases the address of the property can be used to locate a record.
If you do not have the above information it will require a visit to the office to locate the property on the appropriate map to obtain the map parcel number.
GIS Data
The Department of County Assessor maintains a comprehensive GIS division whose duties are to maintain property maps, taxing entity boundaries, and perform in-house analysis of various types of data. As a benefit to the taxpayers of Jefferson County and businesses; the division can perform not only reproducible maps but custom work including data analysis and maps for a variety of scenarios.
To find out what is available, please download the following Request Forms. You can also contact jcao@jcao.org with GIS SERVICES in the subject line and describe your request.
