To avoid penalties, Personal Property declarations are due by March 1, of the year.
Tax rolls for each year are certified by July 1st.
The last day to appeal your property value to the Board of Equalization is the second Monday in July.

Jefferson County encompasses an area of approximately 628 square miles.
Jefferson County has fourteen incorporated cities. They are Arnold, Byrnes Mill, Cedar Hill Lakes, Crystal City, DeSoto, Festus, Herculaneum, Hillsboro, Kimmswick, Parkdale, Pevely, Olympian Village, Scotsdale and The Village of Peaceful Village.

There are 110,000 parcels of property in Jefferson County.
The total assessed value of real property for 2008 is $2.05 billion.
New construction this year to date totals $47.3 million.
This past year, more than 851new homes were added to the tax roll.
The total assessed value of personal property in Jefferson County is $622 million.
The total number of automobiles and trucks reported in Jefferson County is 160,825.
The mapping department processed 13,926 deeds in 2007 and 246 new subdivisions were processed.
